Tested working Flux Copier for PC\'s made by Central Point Software, Inc and called the \'Deluxe Option Board\', or DOB for short. This was the last iteration of the hardware they made, it uses the Transcopy 3 IC and was made in 1988.
This is a low-level floppy controller that works with your existing floppy disk controller, as a man-in-the-middle bit of hardware independently software controlled that can read floppy disks at a lower level than a regular PC can, thereby allowing you to edit/read/manipulate and ultimately copy floppy disks regardless of their original format. This means that you can copy disks from Apple Mac, Apple 2, Commodore 64 and all kinds of other floppy media without needing the original hardware. Bonus side effect is that this defeats most copy protection that was available at the time.
I have one of these cards installed in my 286, connected 360k 5.25\" and 720k 3.5\" drives. I swapped this card/cable in and ran some programs and it works fine, no issues. I have used it to copy Apple Mac disks and convert files to something readable on a PC (magic!) but it can be used for Commodore 64 and Apple 2 copy protection defeats, as well as PC Booter game disks with protections.
SOFTWARE IS INCLUDED - not shown in the photos but i will include a floppy disk of software containing all the programs you need to start reading and editing floppy disk flux transitions!
By its very nature, this card is for use only with low-density drives and disks, you can use HD drives but only in DD bios modes. For maximum R/W compatibility i have found you really should just stick to using 360k/720k drives only.
The original cable provided goes between the DOB and your existing floppy disk controller. The drives plug into this PCB - and yes that means 2 drives (with your existing twisted cable).
