Theseare TWO military digital voice encryption units model MA4204, made by defenseand aerospace manufacturer Racal Ltd. UK. (so you will get TWO units when youwin this). The units are new, NOS (New Old Stock), never used; not a scratch onthem. The design stems from the late seventies. Included are the mating militaryconnectors as well as a mating Racal MA9688 battery pack (also new in box) incase you want to take one of the scramblers on the road.

Theseunits are digital scramblers, so this is NOT one of those cheap scramblersbased on a simple voice inversion. There is NO way the average Joe will be ableto crack these. The MA4204 uses a sophisticated time-division scramblingmethod. The scrambling order of the time segments changes each halfsecond and is controlled by a pseudo-random number generator (PRNG). The PRNGitself can becontrolledby three rotary switches located atthe front panel, allowing for 512 different sequences. That might seem low, butremember that a potential hacker would have NO knowledge of the pseudo randomsequence, so even a single code would give you a lot of protection already. Ifyou change the code on a regular basis, you become bulletproof.
The units take 12V to 30 VDC supply voltage, which can either be connected via the front using anexternal DC power supply, or at the back using the battery box (the box takes ten“C” type standard batteries)
